Foot Patrol As An Effective Law Enforcement Tool
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Enforcing the law is difficult enough without the added distraction of sidewalks, housing developments, industrial parks and just about every other impediment that makes patrol cars a less effective law enforcement tool. Utilizing foot patrol, on the other hand, provides for greater maneuverability through areas that a car simply cannot traverse, as well as keeps law enforcement visible for citizens and potential perpetrators alike to see. In contrast, foot patrol is not as effective as bicycle patrol, where law enforcement officers are trained to maneuver upon different types of bikes depending upon the terrain they will be covering. The agility and speed of bike patrol lends itself to crowded areas where cars are impractical and foot patrol is futile. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Goals Of DUI Task Force
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. From where Jason J. Legg sits, the goal of any DUI task force is simple: "protect the public from drunk drivers and protect drunk drivers from themselves" (Legg, 2007), but then the District Attorney of Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania has experienced more consequences of drunken drivers than the vast majority of people and can make such a condensed answer. Woven into that statement is the objective for people to learn to take responsibility for their actions and not assume they are the only ones on the road who can safely operate a motor vehicle even when they are under the legal limit. By limiting the number and type of persons who can possess these lethal weapons, there will be a drastic decrease in fatal assaults, ultimately saving thousands of innocent lives every year. High-Tech Crime: How The Criminal Justice System Has Had To Change Its Approach
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Technological advancement has changed virtually everything about how man operates in his world. From medical discoveries to genetic food alteration and work efficiency to personal convenience, technology has afforded people the opportunity to achieve goals and objectives with much greater ease. However, a positive side such as this also has its opposing flawed side whose impact is just as immensely negative, not the least of which is that of high-tech crime. One of the most prevalent state-of-the-art ways in which common criminals have taken their trade up a few notches is through white collar - or computer - crimes. These sophisticated perpetrators have created a learning curve for the criminal justice system who basically had to educate itself on the job in order to keep up with the mounting incidence of computer crimes; as such, forensics strategies have been restructured in order to infiltrate this new-fangled criminal. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Higher Education For Police Officers
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. The psychology of crime requires significantly more than law enforcement officers brandishing loaded weapons at and physically apprehending offenders. Indeed, the extent to which contemporary police forces must also incorporate some level of psychological interface with the perpetrator is both grand and far-reaching; that obtaining a degree of higher education in order to better understand the criminal mind while in the field speaks to a much greater scope of law enforcement than many people realize exists in today's criminal justice system. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
