Feminist Science Fiction: A Stereotypical Literary Genre in Itself?
[ send me this paper ]
An 11 page discussion of feminist preferences and content in science fiction. Contends that the creation of the literary genre of “feminist science fiction” is in reality an injustice to feminist as that genre makes the assumption that writing content and preference is determined by gender. This genre requires a literary work to feature women rather than men. This paper points out that the author’s likes and dislikes in science fiction have little to do with the gender of the author or whether the primary plot features a woman or a man. The author contends that such a categorization severely limits the type of work which is acceptable under this proposed genre. We must ask ourselves, is it any more fair to limit a feminist’s creative output than it is to limit her occupation or perceived societal role? Is the feminist who chooses to write science fiction which features interaction of men and women as equals no longer a feminist? Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Feminist Theory Management
[ send me this paper ]

Feminist Therapy And Postmodern Approach
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. One of the most prominent issues pertaining to the notion of feminist therapy and postmodern approach is how this particular population is routinely intermixed with other multicultural subgroups that do not "conform their lives to the truths and reality of the dominant society of which they are a part" (Corey, 2004, p. 410). Consequently, it has been necessary to establish an entirely separate approach to addressing the unique components of feminist therapy so as to underscore the combined aspects of gender and power. Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Fictional Story Set In South Africa
[ send me this paper ]
7 pages in length. Attending their junior year in college abroad, Adrienne and Camille chose South Africa as their cultural enlightenment. Indeed, the girls' collective experience with social services afforded them a much better opportunity to apply their academic talents than by choosing a more socially advanced society. Anticipated yet realistic at the same time, both Adrienne and Camille thought they understood the cultural, political and social intensity inherent to South Africa; only after they experienced its profundity firsthand did they actually realize the overwhelming sense of authoritarianism and gender discord. Friedman/Mappings: Feminism & Cultural Geography
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page book review that examines Mappings, Feminism and Cultural Geographies of Encounters by Susan S. Friedman. The writer argues that this powerful text moves feminist theory away from paralyzing debates concerning perceived dichotomies of identity, them vs. us, white vs. other, etc. and towards a broader geopolitical, social landscape. The vision that Friedman offers of the future of feminist theory goes beyond identity politics, as she guides the reader toward greater understanding of how identities are both negotiated and transformed. Drawing from the gamut of popular culture, Friedman relates to books, movies, poetry and the mass media, as she address theoretical issues that are pivotal to post-modern feminism. Gay and Lesbian Culture? Not!

(11 pp). Unless you just arrived from an alien

"alternative life style," or same-sex couples is
another issue. We will be exploring where the
culture is today, in this paper.
